Ultrasound

Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy is largely aimed at those suffering from injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments and cartilage. Damage to these areas can take a long time to heal, in part due to our reliance on these body parts leading to them becoming repeatedly stressed during the recovery process.

This treatment involves the targeted use of ultrasound waves to go beyond the surface of the skin and relieve affected internal structures. This is achieved by its gentle massaging of painful areas, which has been shown to reduce swelling and injury-related oedema (excess watery fluid in tissues or cavities). Ultrasound also increases blood-flow to the selected zone, which softens scar tissue and, with regular application, speeds up the healing process.

Linda has vast experience of using ultrasound as part of a wider therapeutic process. If you have any questions or queries about ultrasound therapy, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
